This website redesign project gave the Oakland
Museum a new look while allowing for easy content updates.
The colorful site offers visitors online slide shows
and exhibits, as well as pertinent information for those who
wish to visit the museum or become a supporting member.
In 1998, the museum asked Tommy Dew to design a virtual exhibition
to accompany the "Gold
Rush! California's Untold Stories" exhibit, which celebrated
the 150th anniversary of Marshall's discovery of gold at Sutter's
Mill. In 1999, we created another virtual exhibition, "California
Underground: Our Caves and Subterranean Habitats," to
coincide with the museum's exhibit focusing on California caves
and their inhabitants. These sites are both a promotion for and
an extension of exhibits, and are currently accessible via the
museum website.
